Guitars and Goodbyes
Rick came to me the day before his goodbye and asked if he could do “something different”. I’m always for our clients having the freedom to create their own goodbyes – so that was a huge yes from me!
He sang the song that he had written and it was one of those songs that stick. For the rest of that day, I hummed the chorus and my foot tapped to its beat. What an honour it is to see these different transformational journeys and what a gift it is to share these moments. Here are the lyrics to Rick’s song:
Band Of Brothers
When I showed up here, I was in an awful state,
My Mind was Screamin’ “this is some mistake
I was running scared ‘cause that’s what I do…
I’d still be running if not for you
Chorus
My Band Of Brothers, All from different mothers
I’ll take my stand, yeah I’ll stand with you
We’ve got gang bangers, lawyers, cops and thieves,
We’ve even got a few hippies like me
But those are just labels not who we are
If one of us is cut all will bleed
My Band Of Brothers, All from different mothers
I’ll take my stand, yeah I’ll stand with you
Now it’s all for one and one for all
If we all stand together then none will fall
It’s a certain kind of psyche, group mentality
If one brother wins, then we can all be free.
My Band Of Brothers, All from different mothers
I’ll take my stand, yeah I’ll stand with you
My Band Of Brothers, All from different mothers
I’ll take my stand, yeah I’ll stand with you
