Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

As mental health care providers, our practitioners and staff serve a client population with diverse backgrounds and health care needs. We offer individualized treatment and care for each of our unique clients. We believe the individuality of our staff members is a strength. We are a diverse group, comprised of different genders, racial backgrounds, religious affiliations, sexual orientations, ages, specialties, practice locations, and more. We are committed to being an equal opportunity employer and healthcare provider and to creating a diverse environment for our clients, staff, volunteers, students, contractors, and suppliers.

Our JEDI Council

Our Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Council informs critical strategic decision making, supports deployment of key DEI strategies and programs, monitors progress against goals and objectives, and serves as visible and vocal sponsors of diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the organization. These councils are department leaders and facility representatives who reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commitments

Each SCHC and GSWC employee prioritizes individual dignity and strives to promote a culture of diversity, inclusivity, and equity in a supportive client care and workplace environment.

We are committed to creating a community that recognizes and embraces diverse backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences. We will not tolerate or condone discrimination.

We will actively work to dismantle systemic racism and inequalities that may be entrenched in our health system.

Our commitment is relentless and we seek to be accountable in all our actions. We will fearlessly accept criticism and continuously learn from our mistakes with transparency and humility throughout this journey. Together, we will continue to make SCHC and GSWC safe, welcoming places, cultivating strength and support of our small local community, and earning the trust of all.

Healing Not Hate

Our clients can expect, and are entitled to, high quality care from our range of practitioners and providers. In return, we ask that our clients respect those with whom they come into contact, regardless of their gender identity, age, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, Indigenous identity, disability, and/or other dimensions of diversity. When you come here as a client, family member, or visitor, you will see this value reflected in the language contained in client care agreements, handbooks, and other printed material throughout SCHC/GSWC facilities.
