It’s a special time of year at SCHC. The trees and flowers are in full bloom, the grass is that perfect shade of green, and the outside is alive. It’s the time of rejuvenation, growth, and revitalization. What’s going on outside is also ‘blooming’ inside within our clientele. The weather and life of our clients perfectly epitomize Easter and Spring.
The kitchen is bustling with a menu fit for Easter Sunday. The food is what you’d see in your own kitchen – all the comfort food one wants on special holidays. Chef Deb will cook turkey, stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, two different types of veggies, salads, fresh buns, and pies! Dinner is clearly well received as indicated by moments of silence and only the sound of forks on plates. The sound of foodies doing their thing and contentment from all.
There’s always special treats waiting for our guys on Sunday morning. Goodies for everyone! It’s always quite the site seeing men place chocolates around for the others to ‘find’ in the morning. Many laughs were shared! We especially try to make SCHC our clients home away from home during holidays like Easter. Who says grown men don’t enjoy Easter treats?
For clients wishing to spend Easter at their preferred church, we accommodate them to the mass or sermon. It is important to us that each of our clients has the chance to celebrate their religious beliefs if they so choose. This time of year is one of the most beautiful times on the Sunshine Coast and it’s that much more special spending it with our guys in recovery!
